My dryer is in a manufactured home and vents through the floor. Can you actually reach that?

Yes, and it's a large share of what we do in Lakeside given how many manufactured and mobile homes are here. The duct drops through the floor into the underbelly and runs a short distance to a termination under the skirting. The usual problem isn't lint in the pipe so much as the boot coming loose at the floor penetration or at the exterior end, which dumps hot moist lint into the belly insulation. We pull the skirting access, check that connection, clean the run from both ends, and reseat or re-clamp the boot if it's separated. If the belly wrap is torn or packed with lint, we'll show you photos rather than just closing it back up.

Santa Ana conditions in the fall drive more of that debris into the termination. Then the winter river-valley fog puts moisture back into the mix, and damp lint packs down harder than dry lint. Once a year is a reasonable baseline for most Lakeside homes.
